What is a Retrofit Assessment?

An official PAS 2035 Retrofit Assessment is the first step in the process of carrying out retrofit installation work, in order to understand what measures are required to improve the energy efficiency of your property.

A retrofit assessment usually takes approximately 2 hours to complete on site depending on the availability of relevant information. Additional time is then needed to write up the report which must be carried out by a fully qualified Retrofit Assessor. The information can then be used by the owner or an appointed Retrofit Coordinator who will be able to assess the scope, risk level and action plan for your home. The results of the assessment will include a comprehensive report with three key parts:

  1. An energy report that outlines the current energy use of the property (different from an EPC needed for tenanted properties)

  2. A condition survey that looks at any issues that could affect future energy efficiency improvement measures. This is not a structural survey.

  3. An occupancy assessment to reflect more detailed patterns of energy use for hot water, heating, etc, within the property.
